My Memorable Ifugao Experience | Batad

Ifugao Traditional Costume

This could be one of the highlights of my life as a traveler. To experience living the kind of life with our fellow brothers in the Mountains of the Cordillera. I was able to witness their traditional chants and dances (and even participated on it), wear their traditional costumes, partake on drinking “tapuy” or rice wine, pound some unhusked “palay”, chew some “moma”, join the conversation with foreign travelers around a bonfire, be awaken with refillable robusta coffee every morning, relax on their so-called Batad massage, take a bath on the freezing cold waters of Tappiyah Falls, and walk along the impressive amphitheater-like rice terraces. Our homestay was indeed memorable. Thank you so much Tatay Ramon Binalet.

  1. Ang saya sa Batad noh? Kahit medyo mahirap yung papunta pero worth it naman 😀 May ganyan din akong picture pero di masyadong authentic hitsura dahil may t-shirt sa loob :))

    • Super! I didnt expect the hike to be that tiring, the initial 412 steps going down is knee-breaking, then we took that again going up coz there’s a landslide in the so-called “longcut”.

But the scenery, even if its raining is so magical. Im planning to go back on the harvest season.
